I believe telling a good story is more than technical ability. It requires empathy, discipline and a real commitment to truth. With an MA in Social Anthropology from LSE and over 10 years' experience in self-shooting, directing and international production, I bring together rigorous research and powerful visual storytelling. My approach combines creative vision with honesty, discipline and joy. For documentary directors and producers, I provide trauma-aware, non-extractive field direction and editing systems that turn large archives into clear, compelling stories.

For NGOs, research groups, and educational institutions, I translate complex academic data, environmental policy, and human rights into compelling, accessible visuals, always with an urgent, relevant message. I'm fluent in four languages (English, Portuguese, French and Italian) and manage the financial and logistical side of things via Xero and FreeAgent, as well as multi-site shoots. I bring both artistic sensibility and operational reliability to every project. Whether it's a high-pressure shoot or  edit, I deliver with depth, integrity, and precision.

Years spent alongside NGOs, research institutes, and communities on the margins in Latin America and the UK have shaped my approach to filmmaking. I have witnessed journeys marked by displacement, upheaval, trauma and hope. Whether the story is about a refugee’s search for home, the shadow of a coup, or the quiet struggle for mental health and climate justice, I am committed to working collaboratively, non-extractive, and with respect. The films that matter most to me listen, open doors, and invite us to reflect on ourselves and to question what we deem as “other”.

For me, making documentaries is a partnership built on trust. I hold the stories, pain, resilience, and voices of the communities I work with with care and integrity. Duty of care, trauma-informed practice and mental health support are woven into every stage of my process, from the first conversation to the final edit. We set boundaries together and build trust, creating a space where stories can unfold safely and honestly. My fluency in English, Portuguese, French, and Italian lets me move between cultures and disciplines, always searching for the thread that connects us all.

Creative inspirations

I was born in Japan to a Scottish Indian mother and a French father, and I spent my childhood in Italy before finding new homes in the UK and Brazil. This mosaic of cultures has shaped me, giving me both a hunger for belonging and a reverence for difference. I bring this lifelong search for home and connection to every creative collaboration. I am drawn to working with partners from all walks of life, and I find real joy in the shared act of creation.

I am drawn to stories that explore radical change with empathy, both in the intimate corners of our lives and in the wider world. Mental health, migration, identity, the delicate politics of collaboration and the slow work of healing are all threads that pull at me. For me, storytelling is a craft and a way to make sense of life’s complexities and reach across the invisible borders that separate us.

Since arriving in Scotland in 2021, I have continued to grow as a storyteller, supported by the Scottish Documentary Institute and Screen Scotland. My latest short film, "The Tomorrow That'll Come," found its first audience at the Edinburgh International Film Festival. Now, I am developing "Thread," a feature documentary that weaves together migration, intergenerational identity, and the search for belonging through the relationship between two women. The project is still unfolding, and I am looking for UK and Scottish co-production partners, as well as collaborators passionate about documentary, archival research, and cross-cultural storytelling.
